Pray for the Homeland Security Department and the leaders. Pray for our American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan and other places around the world. 3) Pray for the president. . .as he and Laura are resting and working in Crawford Texas. Pray for safety and renewal. Pray that God grant health, wisdom, and safety as they continue to serve our nation in the new year. Additional leaders to pray for: Secretary of Veterans' Affairs - Anthony Principi Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board - Alan Greenspan Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms - Bradley A. Idaho 4) Pray for a couple who have given up. They decided marriage was too much work. Oregon 5) Pray for a couple who are trying to help the Idaho couple. 6) Pray for a family in distress. 7) Pray for a family. The young man is struggling with being effeminate Missionaries 8) Bob and Becky Otten are headed back to Kazakhstan on Jan 12th. They are still about $500.00 short in support and will need some money for a car when they get there. Pray for the teams that will be coming to help with the ministry to business people in Almaty. 9) Pray for Frank and Barbara Emrick, the Russian Field Directors for Yakutia, Siberia. Yakutia is a ?state" - not a town. It is a large area. There are 12 on the team and they encourage, equip and power the leaders of the church in Yakutia. The church has formed the Association of Church of Evangelical Christians and they do evangelism, training and even a leadership training in Yakutsk Bible School. Big field, big goals. Praise God for progress. 10) Pray for Dr. Nina Kunkle in Bolivia. She writes: God be praised for those ready to serve on the new Nueva Esperanza church counsel (a new church the missions team has been working on). Praise God for the strength and health the Lord has provided for the Nueva Esperanza pastoral team. Pray for God's wisdom and guidance as we enter 2004. 11) Pray for Jewel, the daughter of a Christian leader, whose recent tests for cancer indicate that the treatment did not completely eradicate the leukemia. It has now spread to her skin. Pray for God's comfort for the family and for a mighty miracle. 12) Pray for Scott and Evani Hunnicutt who work in Brazil. When they returned from furlough last fall they found that their language fluency had declined and they are having trouble regaining it. Pray that their son's, Haniel, skill will improved in both Portuguese and English -- neither of which are "native tongues" to him. Pray for Ademir, their foster son, who is having trouble learning basic education skills. Pray that Ademir will see his value and worth before God who loves him even when others did not. 13) Pray for Ron and Karen Rohman as they work on the streets and college campuses of Portland, Oregon. Pray for an awakening at all the campuses. 14) Don Cline, founder and director of Frontier Missions -- serving Native Americans -- had a damaging heart attack recently and has had to stop most of his activities at the mission. Pray for his recovery. Some Questions for the New Year Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use, the bubbles are always white? Is there ever a day when mattresses are NOT on sale? How come, when you first pull the drapery cord, the drapes always move the wrong way? Why is it that no plastic garbage bag will open from the end you first try? Why do we wash BATH towels? Aren't we clean when we use them? If not, what was the purpose of the bath? Is it true that the only difference between a yard sale and a trash pickup is how close to the road the stuff is placed? How come we never hear any father-in-law jokes? | |||||
