The 7 Ups!

Ever New

Holy is the Lord most high
And worthy is His name
His glory covers all the earth
A truth we can proclaim

The heavens cheer out loud with praise
Let all the earth rejoice
He thunders in the highest height
And whispers with His voice

His wings embrace the world with love
His mercy does not cease
His blessings overflow with joy
He fills each with peace

And with His hand He holds us close
He'll never let us go
He spreads His arms both far and wide
So all the earth would know

That holy is the Lord most high
His name is strong and true
His wonders fill the universe
His grace is ever new

3) Pray for our president. . .Pray for President Bush as he leads the nation in the New Year-for God’s guidance to lead in a manner that pleases Him and is best for the nation.

Pray for President and Mrs. Bush as they visit troops at Brooke Army Hospital in San Antonio, TX--to be an encouragement. Pray for their safe return to Washington following that stop.

Read: Lamentations 3:22-25

4) Pray for the world. . .Pray for Italian security services as they train in preparation for the start of the Winter Olympics February 10 in Turin. Pray that they will successfully keep all athletes, citizens and visitors safe. Pray that radical groups will create no plans to harm anyone during that great world event.

Missionaries
5) Pray for Jay and Linda Neuharth in Central Asia. Here's a report: "Last time I wrote you about Ainura. A few days after she received Jesus, I asked her how it was going. She said it was harder to pray than ever! She understood that each time she prayed she had to first open the door of her heart, then invite Jesus in, then He would take her to God, all before she could pray. I explained that, once He enters our hearts, He stays. That was good news for her.

Last time I also mentioned Abdunabi, who has struggled with alcoholism. When I saw him last week, he had not had a drink. That is a wonderful miracle! Each day a miracle is needed for him to say, "No" to alcohol, so please keep praying, especially over the New Year’s holiday, during which he will face many friends who will pull him to drink.

6) Pray for the following people who came to Joan's Christmas party in Israel: Benzi (unbelieving next door neighbor) Steve (an evangelist from Tel Aviv) Topaz and Yudit (unbelievers from Modiin whom Hannah from Haifa met at Beresheet New Age Festival) Mother and daughter (Zella and Mishi Goldberg) who love Jesus together.

7) Pray for Focus on the Family's new project for 2006. They say : "Expectant mothers who see their babies on ultrasound are far less likely to seek abortions than those who don't get ultrasounds. Therefore, Focus on the Family wants to equip 650 additional Pregnancy Resource Centers with ultrasound machines by 2010. Since the launch of Option Ultrasound, more than 171 services (including 140 machines and 31 sonography trainings) have been placed in 37 states." Could you help?

8) Pray for David as he starts a new Bible Study/Songfest for PrayerWorks in Tigard, OR on Tuesdays!

9) Pray for Ben and Donna Duffy as they continue to prepare individuals for the mission field with OM.

10) Pray that God continues to give Bruce the incredible wisdom to know what is important and what is not in a culture that is totally different from ours. Bruce and Deb work and live in Haiti, working to bring water to communities so that he can bring the living water to them. For instance, his current problem is how to move a 35 ton crane from the U.S. to Haiti and then over 100 miles of totally impassable roads in order to build a bridge over a river 400 feet wide with nothing but imagination and God's grace -- all the while keeping the local witch doctor at bay.

11) Pray for InterAct Missions. Pray for Sam and Judy who will take over for the pastor while he is on an evangelistic tour in India. Pray also for open hearts for open hearts within the Asian/Arabic refugee groups in Calgary Canada.

A Note
12) Howard Stern has lost 90% of his advertisers because the "religious right" has stood up to be counted, boycotting those advertisers and writing to them to tell them why they will no longer shop -- purchase their goods. It works. When you find something on TV or the Radio that is not in good moral taste, do something about it. Complaining won't work. Write, call, boycott! That will work -- its proven itself.

California
13) Pray for Phil and RoseMarie as they readjust to time zones and lifestyles after spending more than a month in Kenya.

The 7 Ups!

1. Wake Up !! Decide to have a good day. "This is the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalms 118:24

2. Dress Up !! The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." I Samuel 16:7

3. Shut Up!! Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. "He who guards his lips guards his soul." Proverbs 13:3

4. Stand Up!! . . . for what you believe in. Stand for something or you will fall for anything. "Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good..." Galatians 6:9-10

5. Look Up !! . . . to the Lord. "I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me". Philippians 4:13

6. Reach Up !! . . . for something higher. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path." Proverbs 3:5-6

7. Lift Up !! . . . your Prayers. "Do not worry about anything; instead PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING." Philippians 4:6
